About Us
For the love of pets
We didn’t set out to own and run a pet boarding business. It just kind of happened.
And we absolutely love it.
We are Michelle, Atti and Anneleise Nohotima and we’ve always been a pet-loving family – which is why we feel privileged to have so many families choose to share their cherished cats and dogs with us.
Caring for your pets for over 20 years
Always Able Pet Boarding began as Kennels on Kew, opening in 2002.
For 17 years, word of mouth grew between pet lovers that Kennels on Kew was a loving, caring place for dogs and cats to stay.
We bought the property and the business in 2019, and were excited that the previous manager, Belinda, wanted to stay on, providing that valuable continuity with the kennel’s long history.
Why is Kennels on Kew now called Always Able (AA) Pet Boarding?
AA Pet boarding shares a large property with our other business, Always Able disability support services.
In 2019, we began looking for a large property with two houses – one for the family and one to become a new Always Able group home. The property also needed a decent-sized acreage for our horse and other various pets.
The Kennels on Kew property was everything we were looking for. Plus it came with the added bonus of another well-established business already on-site.
After we refurbished and extended the facilities, Kennels on Kew reopened as Always Able Pet Boarding in 2020.
Even more love, care and attention for your pets
Both the kennels and the disability group home benefit hugely from being neighbours. Our Participants with Pets program encourages group home residents to visit and spend time playing with and caring for the pets.
The residents enjoy valuable therapy time while the pets thrive on the extra attention and care they receive.
